Oaklawn Park
Bloomington, IN
Some Notable Neighborhood Rules
Not an exclusive listing of all rules included in the by-laws. Doing something outside the norm? It could be prohibited in the details of the by-laws. For by-law details, please be in contact with the property management.
1) No parking in the streets
Parking is limited to the marked parking spots around the neighborhood or the driveways of the garage units. The only designated parking includes the driveways of the garage units. Parking in the streets is not allowed.
2) Take care of your limited common area
Anything updated outside of your home by you or a previous resident is your responsibility to maintain. This includes, but is not limited to, fences, trees, shrubs, flower beds, outdoor furniture, and outdoor decorations. If you do not maintain these items in the area immediately around your home (limited common area), the HOA will have the maintenance completed. The homeowner will then be billed for the cost of the maintenance services.
3) Pick up and discard dog waste
Dog poop needs to be picked up and discarded. We have children who play in the neighborhood. Let's not have them covered in your dog's poop.
4) No home can be used as a business that impacts the neighborhood outside the walls of the home
In the era of remote work, working quietly within your own home is allowed. Otherwise, the rules provide that the homes in Oaklawn Park are for single family residential use. You should not be conducting business that would include within a residence employees who do not live within that residence. No business can be conducted that would include visits by customers/parking by non-residents. No business can be conducted that would include business activities taking place outside or that would cause visual or audible impacts to the home/neighborhood.
3) No unapproved (by the HOA) signs
No signs, window displays, or advertising visible from outside your home are permitted except those advertising a property as for sale or for lease. This does not include small signs on your own outside door. Reasonable holiday decorations will not be something about which the HOA would be concerned.
6) Keep the noise down
Be considerate of your neighbors. Keep the noise levels down.
7) Pick up your trash
No trash storage is allowed outside or near your home. Please, please, please get your trash thrown into the neighborhood dumpsters. Don't leave your trash at the foot of the dumpster. Pick it up. Throw it in there. Be kind to everyone in keeping this a neighborhood the kids don't have to be embarrassed to bring their friends. Is the dumpster full? It will soon be emptied! You can throw that out tomorrow.
