The board discussed in the September 2025 board meeting exploring an option to connect the very northern tip of the neighborhood to the walking/biking trail that runs parallel to Sare Rd. The board was not able to make a decision in the meeting as not all board members were present to form a majority either way. If you have thoughts on this, please review the information here. If this is something you would support exploring or if this is something you oppose exploring, please connect with Focus Property Management to let them know. Input from the community is welcome.

This would have possible benefits such as providing more direct access to the bus stop physically closer to many people in the north of the neighborhood. If paved as the trail is, it could provide more convenient wheelchair, stroller, and biking access to the bus stop and businesses north of Oaklawn Park on Sare Rd. It would have costs (everything costs). It would mean some grass would need to be converted to walking/wheelchair/biking surfaces to make the connection. All are things to be considered.

A connection could be through the area indicated in red below. In green are the bus stops and the start of the businesses to the north of us. Blue shows the flow of foot/wheelchair/bike traffic if making this connection.

There could be two possible connection routes. Below, one is in red. The other is in purple. The bus stop is in green.

ree

Below in green you can see walking/wheelchair/biking route options if the connection was made at the north end of the neighborhood. The red indicates current options if avoiding walking through grass/mud that is not part of any official walking path (also walking through that grassy area is not really an option if situations prevent walking without assistance). Blue indicates the bus stops and the businesses to the north of us.

ree

Here you can see clearly the path through the grass/dirt that people are already using to make this connection.

ree

Below would be where the already existing trail would connect with the new trail we would add into the northern tip of the neighborhood (again, that people are already using but walking over grass/dirt).

ree

Again, from the image below people are already walking here. Currently, it is bare dirt, and when it rains, it is mud. Creating an official path/trail would allow people to walk this path without walking through the dirt and mud. A surfaced trail would give people, including people using mobility assistance easy access to the bus stop at the right of the photo. It should also then improve the look of the area replacing the dirt/mud.

ree

Below is of the path residents are already using. This would seem then the natural path for an more accessible surface trail that would make it possible for those with mobility issues to more easily access/use.

ree

If creating a formal surface trail/path, we should ensure it has a mobility connection to the road surface allowing rolling wheelchair, stroller, and biking access without going over a raised curb.

ree

No decisions have been made either way. Your thoughts and opinions, for or against, could then help the board make decisions. Suggestions for alternatives are also welcome.
